Military Pay Chart 1975

1975 US Military Basic Pay Charts

On October 7, 1974, President Gerald R. Ford sent correspondence titled, "117 - Message to the Congress on Federal Civilian and Military Pay Increases." The letter indicates that after much consideration, and per authority granted in Public Law 93-419, further promulgated in Executive Order 11812, he chose a pay raise of 5.52% on recommendation of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Chairman of the United States Civil Service Commission. The recommended raise of 7.22% made by the Advisory Committee on Federal Pay and the 8.4% proposal put forth by the Federal Employees Council were ruled out because of "our current economic situation."

The United States military pay scales below became effective on October 1, 1974 and continued to be in effect until September 30, 1975. It is the basic pay amounts for the active components of the Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard.

The pay rates are monthly, US dollar.

NOTE 1. Pay Grades O-9, O-10 and Fleet Admiral(O-10) received an additional "Personal Money Allowance" of $41.67, $183.33 and $333.33, respectively. While in Pay Grade O-9, serving as a member of the United Nations, the Personal Money Allowance of $225.00 was authorized. The Chief of Naval Operations pay is $3000.00, regardless of time in service because it is limited by Schedule V.

The Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy's basic pay is $1,518.60 regardless of cumulative years of service.
