Navy SLRP and Enlistment Bonus Update (Feb. 15, 2016)

February 2016 SLRP and EB Update

Updated: February 19, 2016

On 17 February 2016, Commander, Navy Recruiting Command released an updated Enlistment Bonus (EB) and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) message. The only change from the December release is an increase to the Aircrew Rescue Swimmer (AIRR) EB for Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 and FY-2017.

There is no change to the SLRP as the Musician rating remains the only rating eligible for it.

Although the message was released on 17 February, the new amounts are effective for eligible personnel who entered the Delayed Entry Program on or after 15 February 2016.

I’m currently in DEP as a CTI and my shipping date is November, so is the enlistment bonus only for those that ship out in Sept-Oct? And if so is it possible to have my recruiter ship me earlier to still get the bonus? ((I was a different rate but I qualified for cti and changed it. My recruiter hasn’t told me yet as meps is still in process of sending me my new contract))

  2. NCCM(Ret) says:

You should not have to ask for the bonus — if you are authorized one, it will be part of the annex to your contract. If you do not see a bonus applied, then ask about why not — you also need to ask your recruiter if this information is still current (CNRC no longer releases the notice for public use).

  3. David says:

You seemed to have misread and incorrectly copied the applicability dates. It’s from Oct 01 to Sep 30 ANY FISCAL YEAR, not from Sep 01 to Oct 31 2016 – I hope that helps. And as NCCM(Ret) stated, you should find your bonus information in your annex(es).

    NCCM(Ret) and David,

Thank you for your help it’s much appreciated! I will take your advice, ask my recruiter and check my annexes as soon as I can.
