System Integrator Position Available

Attention on Deck! There is a System Integrator job available at the Training Support Center in Hampton Roads, Virginia. May be a great opportunity for a qualified Navy Information Systems Technician (IT) or even a Cryptologic Technician – Networks (CTN); if you meet the qualifications listed below and are close to finishing your contract, this opportunity may be for you.

Principle Duties and Essential Job Functions:

Leads and participates in highly complex system integration projects. Installs, generates, maintains, tests, debugs, and integrate system software programs with COTS/GOTS applications and support equipment, develops instructions for integration of operating system software, and modifies/maintains integration packages via releases and utilities from manufacturers in a multi-operating system and/or network operating system environment. Evaluates existing operating systems/COTS/GOTS software and recommends changes. Optimizes systems software performance.

Responsible for applications dealing with the overall operating system, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, networks, CAD or GIS system software, or mathematical/scientific software packages. Engineers highly complex software that may relate directly to operating systems, their performance or devices controlled.

The position performs network engineering support. Performs site surveys for integration and installation of new circuits and classrooms. Coordinates circuit activation and repair with local telecommunications providers as well as appropriate Navy agencies. Performs diagnostic testing, analysis and optimization of all hardware elements of the network. Maintains the network cable plant including fiber optic, cat5 wiring, patch panels and associated communication cabinets and racks. Installs and tests required power plant and associated UPS. Creates and updates system drawings using Visio software. Provides network training as required.

Basic Qualifications:

Prefer Bachelor’s with four (4) years of related experience; eight (8) years related experience in lieu of Bachelor’s with H.S. Diploma.

Able to provide hardware troubleshooting, upgrade, and repair; Software integration TCP/IP and/or Network Management; Desktop Application Support; Customer service in support of military member instructors and POCs.

Security +, CompTia A+, and/or Network + certifications are preferred.

Key Competencies: Windows NT/XP/2003/2000/98/95, LINUX, SQL, SMS and AEC Support. Must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written.

Clearance: Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
