Why does the Navy not were bell bottoms anymore??

Answers...
1. The Cracker Jack uniform still has bellbottoms. Bellbottoms are inplace for safety. If you fall overboard the bellbottoms make it so you can pull your pants off over your boots/shoes. The pants are then tied off at the bottom of the legs, thrown over the head to fill the legs with air to keep a man afloat till help comes.
2. The "Dixie cup" white hat is designed to be a floatation device. It is made of cotton, once wet it will hold air and keep a man afloat till help comes.
3. Means we don't tell the Marines in hope they drown
4. Marines are in place to slow down the bullet before hitting the more expensive Sailor.
