Liberal Media Beating up the Military - Again : General Discussion

Here is an E-Mail chain I sent to Bill OReilly and a few USMC associations. This is so sad. If its the Marines today, its the Navy tomorrow. If you have five minutes to spare, go check out this guys artwork and send an email about how it makes you feel.

What you are about to read is the media attacking the Marine Corps! This liberal media crap has now crossed the line by desecrating our beloved Marine Corps. I TAKE THIS PERSONEL and you should too! So let's stand up and 'Walk the Walk!' by e-mail,letter or whatever it takes to defend our Corps! These types of human beings(media) have always 'bitten the hand' that fights for the very freedom that enables them to have this freedom of the press. They just don't get the picture! Let's show them what support is. And PLEASE e-mail this to every Marine and former Marine that you can. Thank you!

Massacre cover-up

This desecration of the Marine Corps Emblem appeared in Wednesday, June 7th edition of the Arizona Republic as a political cartoon. I sent the following e-mail to the editor of the Republic this morning:

To whom it may concern:

In response to Steve Benson's political cartoon desecrating the Marine Corps Emblem, and prejudging the Marines currently under investigation, but not charged with any crimes. I would like to make the following comments regarding the battle history of the United States Marine Corps.

The United States Marine Corps has faithfully defended the interests of the people of the United States in every climate and place since November 10, 1775. Every part of the Marine dress blue uniform is steeped in tradition, from the eagle, globe and anchor, the stock collar, the red stripe on officer and NCO trousers legs honors the blood of Marines spilled in combat. I am personally incensed by the publication of Mr. Benson's cartoon slandering our Corps emblem and the memory of Marines that paid the ultimate price with their lives.

I will be forwarding a copy of the "CARTOON" to Col. Walter Ford, Editor of Leatherneck magazine, The Arizona American Legion magazine and to the VFW and DAV.

My response to the paper.

"I saw the picture of the Marine Corps emblem and how it was dishonored due to the allegations of wrong doing in Iraq and the cover-up you think is happening. I am very disappointed and disgusted by the fact you chose to deface the Marine Emblem and it is wrong to do so - have your artists such a limited imagination? Your paper has no honor - attack those you think are at fault and not those who protect your right to publish such garbage.

Him and I shot emails back and forth all day. Here is a sample:

I am absolutely enraged at the depiction of the Marines Emblem in such an inflammatory manner.

This represents an absolutely bankrupt morality within your organization, and should be investigated by the FCC for lack of journalistic integrity.

Even in an editorial context, it is unacceptable to slander the Marines over this matter, especially since the President of the United States is personally briefed on the progress of the investigation.

Your lack of oversight, or second rate manner in which you select your content, is representative of how low you as a media outlet have sunk for the sake of shock journalism

You should close your doors and go the route of Jerry Springer or Al Jazeera if your intention is to create controversy where there is none.

As usual, I expect nothing back from your office. I have lost confidence in the media years ago, and just when I come back to reevaluate the integrity of this business, you go and deliver your failing attempt at punditry.
I eagerly await anything you have to say in response.
