BANNED FROM COUNTERSTRIKE

Postby 007andahalf on Thu Feb 02, 2006 8:37 pm

BANNED FROM COUNTERSTRIKE.

I have official banned myself from playing counter-strike for a while. It has been a very good part of my life so far but now I have to get my grades up. For the next couple of months I will not be playing. Hopefully I can get my act together but for this entire quarter, which lasts until sometime in March, I will not be playing. Still an active member of the forums however, so I'll definitely see you guys here.

School is really bogging me down. I am super anal about getting Bs and then suddenly last quarter I got a C! So this is a really bad sign of things to come unless I take action. Play on, and may the force be with you!

You bet. I lived 5 doors down from him my freshman year. He was a man who took CS a little to far. But he was good in his day.

Computer Games and the End of the World:

We find ourselves in an unkown, unchartered era of new frontiers. It is impossible to know what is to come before us, unless it is a few steps away. I come here to talk to of one of the greatests evils in the world. They have begun to eat away at our children, teens, and even our peers and other adults. Computer games have come into the world and engulfed it in digital darkness. Growing in the back of our minds is the knowledge of the end, and I for one cannot begin to know for sure whether technology will save us, as spokesmen have declared, or if it would be the fuel behind such an end. One thing is for sure, however, life as we know it is ever changing, much of it because of video games.

Lives have been altered and changed in order to fit around these games. What we once thought be the evils of radio, then television we now find occuring in the internet and video games. We must avert ourselves from these as well, for they too, if taken too much, like drugs, will harm the body and soul. Video games have caused thousands of men and women alike, of all ages, of all cultures, to be taken aback from the real world into their own realities, ones that damage them without knowledge of such happenings. Jobs resigned, classes ignored, life itself second to the virtual world. This must come to an end.

We finally realized the potential of video games. The reality of the feature film "The Matrix" may in fact become a reality of unrealistic life. What happens when all the world is engulfed with games. Who will tend to the garden, who will nurture the children, who will take care of the future? We cannot further ourselves if this rage continues to grow and spread, amongst our teens, who are hit so young at the heart, and some have turned down full scholarships in order to make more room for their draining habits.

Are we to become slaves of the computer? Are we to stare blankly at the TV, hoping to keep this curtain folded over our eyes? We cannot ignore the fact that our lives are becoming more and more defined by video games, even those who do not and almost despise video games, they have become engulfed in the fire against video games, wrapping themselves around them too. We need to break free of our great love of the controller and worlds that can only exist in our hard drives. Cast away your fear of reality, and burn with the desire to live!
