Aug. 2, 2001 -- USS Cole Steams off the coast of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico conducting Combat System Ship Qualification Trials with Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA). NAVSEA is verifying the shipÕs combat systems and providing realistic combat training scenarios. Cole recently completed 14 months of shipboard repairs in Pascagoula, Miss., following an Oct. 12, 2000 terrorist attack that killed 17 Sailors in the port city of Aden, Yemen.
