Navy Recruiting Blog about the enlistment process and benefits of service. This is NOT an official Navy web site. The opinions expressed are my own, and may not be in-line with Big Navy.

Hi there! Love your site. I heard about the new program for hiring veterans with a 30% or greater disability - I only wish it extended to veterans before 9/11 also - my husband is a navy vet with a 50% disability - he was laid off from his civilian job in April. This program actually hurts him and others in his situation as it basically pushes younger vets to the head of the line. Gulf War vets made sacrafices too - not only are they facing age discrimination they are now competing with "perfered" veterans.
