Heaven on Earth

Inglis Florida

May 23rd, 2008

Our adventure continues! Camping on 2 1/2 private acres on the Withlacoochee River in Inglis, Florida. Inglis is the town that has been in the spotlight when Elvis made “Follow that Dream” here. Also made national news a few years ago because the Mayor put forth a proclamation to ban the devil. I must say the proclamation must have been a success because this place is truly heaven on earth. Here is a couple of pictures to set the mood :)

Walking bridge over a swampy area next to the river.

And here is something I found entertaining - this boat is flying the Confederate Flag and is based out of Yankeetown, Florida - go figure…

Been having a great time - I am very familiar with this area as I grew up just 11 miles from here in Crystal River so the occasional snake and gator doesn’t phase me :)

We stayed on some family acreage but if you ever get to this area and want to camp I suggest Big Bass Village Contact them at (352)447-3474. They are located right on Lake Rousseau. Secluded and there is wildlife everywhere!

On Sunday we depart for Disney World, stay tuned!
