2009 Senate Pay Raise Proposal

Senate Announces 2009 Defense Bill

May 1st, 2008

Today, May 1, 2008, the Senate’s Armed Services Committee announced it’s newly drafted defense authorization bill which would authorize $612.5 billion in fiscal 2009. The measure would authorize a 3.9 percent pay raise for U.S. military personnel, a half percentage point more than President Bush sought in his budget request.

I am sure the proposed 2009 military pay raise and defense spending in general will be a major issue as the national elections draw closer. Should be a fun ride so stay tuned to NavyCS for your up to date military pay information!
