Five things I wish I’d have heard today and explained away as April Fool’s jokes;
1. Global warming (it’s just Mother Nature having her cycle).
2. The Mayor of Memphis’ extortion/resignation letter. - The school board should hire him as he wants and then fire him a week later so we can all be done with him!
3. That the oil companies are sending us all refund checks, the increase was supposed to only be 20 cents and not 200.
4. The United States building the border fence. - I bet the Soviet Union told its people, “That wall is to keep out the unwanted!”. Walls have a funny way of deterring advancement in either direction.
5. That Clinton being a candidate for President was really a joke. - seriously, she is kidding right?
Have any you’d like to add?
Oh, one last thing - Memphis Tigers will win it all!

Hi — I was looking around for blogs by Navy people in the mid-south and I found you. I’m in the public information office at WKNO-TV Channel 10 and I’m wondering if word’s gotten out about the upcoming PBS miniseries CARRIER, a ten-part documentary about life on the USS Nimitz over the course of a year. It starts airing on Sunday, April 27 at 8:00 but there are nice long previews online now at http://www.pbs.org/weta/carrier/video.php. I know we have a lot of Navy families in the midsouth and I wouldn’t mind hearing from anybody who has time to watch a preview or two — you can write me at bcole[at]wkno.org.
