John Wayne Movies

Beware of Crow Shopping

November 24th, 2007

Time for some suggestions for the holiday present hunting season. First you need to break out your weapon of choice, American Express or Visa – will it be MasterCard or Discover, heck it’s the holidays, take them all!

As with all holiday seasons the store will be filled with bright and shiny gift items. Those high cost items usually draw in the “crow shopper”. A crow, the bird, will swoop down and pick up shiny things to dress up their nest. The item will serve no purpose and be discarded in a matter of a few days. Be smarter than the crow this season and go for things of substance!

My first suggestions this season are movies, more specifically, movies of the late great John Wayne.

He made a ton of movies and played the lead roll in about 140 of them.

My favorites include;

  • Angel and the Badman
  • She Wore a Yellow Ribbon
  • The Quiet Man
  • True Grit
  • The Cowboys
  • The Horse Soldiers

These older movies can be very inexpensive. Start someones collection or help a friend or family member finish one off. With the gift of John Wayne movies you really can’t go wrong.

What is your favorite John Wayne movie?
