NavyCS WordPress Theme
October 15th, 2007
Finally made the move! This is my first post using WordPress on NavyCS. Up until today I have been using B2Evolution as my blog software. I was pleased with the performance but I out grew it. Not B2evo’s fault, I used Alpha 1.6 version and modified so much of the code that upgrading wasn’t an option – a full install was in-store. So I choose WordPress.
One thing important to me during this change was making sure the theme could be made to match the site and at the same time continue to be search optimization friendly. I wanted my page content to be what was first displayed (after the head tag of course) in the page’s code. As I discussed in past posts I believe the closer the content to the top, the better.
There were many options available which had the left hand sidebar but I could not find one that placed the sidebar code at the bottom and most were table intensive so I built my own. I will, when I get some time, make the theme available for download. I need to clean it up a little and write a readme file. One plug-in which is required for my theme is Title Tag Plug-in by Netconcepts.
NavyCS WordPress SEO Theme is released!
