Google Diversity Results Follow-up

July 28th, 2007

This post is a follow-up of the Dr. J and Mr. H SEO Test. The test is exploring Google’s attempt at producing a diversity in the search results.

When I started the test I was really reading too much into the statement in the news article “Inside the Blackbox”. I never really thought my little flash game deep in my gallery had any chance of showing in a search result for “online slots”. Well, it did on page 53, Results 521 - 530 of about 2,910,000 for “online slots” right in the middle of sites dedicated to placement for the term.

I am in no way making any conclusions at this point and not sure where to take it. I hope to gain some insight from people a whole lot smarter than me (that list is very long :)). I do not intend for this research of Google’s diversity results to be exploited in anyway.
