CS map - Art or Terror ActOver the TopMay 8th, 2007The killings at Virginia Tech was an act of one very deranged person and the amount of grief the killer caused will place him deep in the depths of hell. That being said it seems now hysteria has settled into the United States populace. A senior at Clements High School of Texas’ Fort Bend Independent School District created a Counter-Strike 1.6 map of the high school common area.
The game Counter-Strike, the game which my site NavyCS.com is loosely based, is a first person shooter modification of the game Halflife played by millions since its creation in 1999. The Senior has been removed from school and enrolled in the alternative program - HE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO WALK WITH HIS CLASS AT GRADUATION. He did not threaten anyone. He does not pose a threat and has not been a troubled youth. He built a map of his school to play in an on-line game. He did not build the map on school campus nor did he use school materials to produce the map. I say shame on Clements High School and the Fort Bend Independent School District. What are you teaching children about free speech and self expression? Off topic - having made maps myself and knowing the amount of work involved the Senior has skills - his creation is very well done! I currently have the map in my server rotation, enjoy this work of art. Read these posts! No Comments »No comments yet. RSS feed for comments on this post. Leave a comment |
