2008 Pay Chart Update

Military Pay Charts

April 3rd, 2007

UPDATE - 3.5% Approved by the President on 13 November for inclusion into the 2008 Defense Budget. The Presidents VETO of the budget should have no effect on the 3.5% raise and all monies not received after Jan. 1, 2008 should be payed back retroactively. Gotta love politics! - See Chart at 2008 Military Pay Chart

One of the great things about working under contract is you have a pretty good idea that you will be drawing a pay check for it duration, well, as long as you don’t violate it :). Every year congress and the other powers that be consider how much of a raise those in the military deserve. They seem to base the raises on a number of things like cost of living, a slew of economic indexes and mostly how the chicken bones hit the floor.

For 2008 an initial request of a 3% across the board raise was sent to committee. My projection, hope, prayer is an additional .2% be added! I have put together the active military pay charts using my 3.2% raise estimate. No matter what the true outcome may be I will of course update these charts for active and reserve/guard to reflect the actual pay raise that is approved.

Keep your fingers crossed, NCCM Out!
